Arpitha Gorur

Arpitha Gorur is 16 years old and an incoming junior at Bridgewater-Raritan High School. She has been training in the art of Bharatanatyam under the able guidance of Guru Smt. Suba Ramesh Parmar for the past eight years, a member of the winning team at many competitions for Shubanjali. She shows her passion for music through Indian Classical Carnatic music, which she has been learning for the past eleven years. She has also provided vocal support for many Harikathas in Kannada and has acted in the Taranga troupe’s plays since the age of 5. She has performed, competed, and won awards in both dance and music at various events.

In school, Arpitha is an honor roll student. She is a member of the National French and Music Honor Societies, and is an avid member of her school’s Select Women’s Choir, Lorelei Women’s Ensemble, Forensics Speech and Debate, Model UN, and American Red Cross clubs. Recently, Arpitha had the honor of performing with her choir at Carnegie Hall, NY.

As a way of showing her appreciation for her community, Arpitha is a dedicated volunteer in the Somerset County Bridgewater library and the HTCS Bridgewater Hindu temple. Arpitha views her arangetram as a stepping stone to advance in her performing arts journey, and looks forward to continuing her appreciation for the art of dance, music, and her culture.
